A little ride down south

Went for a little ride down to a place called Cockle Creek which is pretty well the furthest south you can go in Tassie. For me it was a 300km round trip consisting of great bitumen with heaps of great corners, the last 20 km consists of shall we say interesting gravel.

A quick break at the Huon River, Huonville
On the gravel

Near a place called Catamaran

Then I got there, a very beautiful part of Tasmania.

Looks beautiful! And even though I am NOT a fan of gravel I have to say those roads in your pics looked more dirt than gravel, I'd take the old girl on those roads without much hesitation...dirt I don't mind  very happy What was the other 20kms like???

The dirt in the pictures was great and I was averaging 80 - 100 km/h on that stuff. There was about 2km of very loose gravel/dirt with a surface about 50mm deep with pieces as big as my fist, a few other damp sections which were essentially slippery clay. The trip was 150 km each way. Other than the 20km near Cockle Creek it was all good bitumen.

Thats the stuff I abhor! On the Harley I never had any issues with off-road riding but on the Buell it gives me the sh*ts! I can't get a foot to the ground and feel really uncomfortable in the big stones... I know I just need to relax but thats easier said than done eh?
