Garage Doors

Reading BB`s story about her flat tyre etc..... prompted me to post a little mishap that happened earlier this week.
I was all ready to head off to work in the morning...............on the bike of course
Our garage has an automatic door
I lifted it up to ride out but it starts to close again
What the............ question
Gets about 1/3 from the bottom & starts to go back up again
That is untill it gets to about 2/3 of the way up where it stops & starts to lower again
This continues with the bloody door just bobbing up & down
I didn`t know what was going on
I turned it off & repowered it hoping it may reset it
But no, it continues bobbing up & down
I`m getting late for work now & cranky
When all of a sudden a tail of a snake drops down from one of the rollers
Yeah, thats right, there is a mangled up snake caught up inbetween the track & the roller  shocked
It was wiggling like hell but I`m sure it was already dead
Once I knew what & where it was I was able to "pull" the rest of it out with a metal rake

What a start to the day  exclamation

Bloody hell!!  What kind of wigglers do you have where you are?? BB tells me that NZ doesn't have any wild snakes in country, and that boggles me, since we have the little (sometimes big) buggers just about everywhere here. Though the only dangerous ones are Rattlesnakes, and they give you a warning.......Unless they curl up in yer sleeping bag on a cool night!!! (I always camp in a tent!)

I quite like snakes but have to admit that I probably would have squealed when it fell out... YIKES!

Funny, I can imagine you getting pissed off at the door and then all of a sudden... LOL

Fuzz :

I was told the snake was only a "harmless" python
I was also assured poisonous snakes don't climb..............I`m yet to test that theory  :?

BB :

Yeah, I was getting very annoyed with the door bobbing up & down & not either fully opening or closing
I thought I had some mechanical problem
After the tail appeared & it was obvious what it was (& the shock went away) it was almost a relief

And the boss says it had to be true
As who could think up a story like that for being late  laughing

At a mine site in Indonesia I was walking up the three steps into our rooms (Doners) and placed my right hand on the side rail when some fell onto the hand rail just as I took my hand of the rail  I looked to my right and backwards to see the snake hit the rail then slide down under the stairs  BLOODY HELL ---- shocked  shocked  shocked  shocked  shocked  shocked A GREEN TREE VIPER -- THESE ARE DEADLY

I know this started out a a garage door story, but the snake thing is the one thing that get me riled up and downright nasty....stepped on a nest of baby rattlesnakes when I was 12, (it looked like hundreds of em) and I have never forgiven them...
I tend to kill anything that wriggles and slithers, then I look to see what kind of snake it is (or was)
