her name is Nikki...a few here know me. i have done the intro's before. a few know a little while back, i had a small mishap and lost my second favorite girl. well i had to replace her.
Darling Nikki... am sure some of you know teh song. anyway its one of my favorites from way back. i collected Nikki last Tuesday. thanks guys for the heads up. took her out today. she has all the style and grace as one would expect. almost rectified her embarrassing bits. no bike of her caliber should be running around with those sorts of strips! anyway its time to show her. the pics not good, but it doesnt need to be.

Nikki...
she is a 2006 xb12r. superb condition, and tight as. love the look of the swingarm over the older xb's.
am i smiling.... of course.
fitted the crg levers even before i had finished handing over the cash. removed the belt guards. and a few unsightly stickers and reflecters. have a few more bits to do. and yes believe it or not i am leaving her shiney.... at this stage!

And a beautiful young lady she is 2G. Progressing in ending vowel from 'a' to 'i'. Is this a new maturity in your choice of companions coming thru .

haha... thanks pete. jac's happy cause i no longer have a reason to tell my 'jemma story'.
the bolt. i am not so loutish on the bolt. dont know how long the full fairing will last though. its good i got another set to play with.
those levers are sweet too thanks. hey should the clutch lever move when accelerating? it pulls in a little. not sure if it may need a little adjusting.
gotta fit a couple of other bits i have already. then i might ask you for a couple of other items when permitted.
cheers.

Is it from the roller-click mechanism or the cable. My cable wireform got changed last service and the cluch cable was routed too tight, and the cable pulled the clutch lever.
The lever should work the same as the black ones you had. Check it out - maybe see if you can see where its going wrong. If there's a problem send it back and I'll change it.

3 Buells in as many years
You certainly are keeping the faith
Its good to see you sorted.
Pete: You got any of those wireforms

Hi Murdoch
I started stocking the new upgraded wireforms just to let people know about them - no longer wire. Aussie XB12SS got one last week, and I've got one. They won't break like the old ones. By the time I posted it it would cost you more than your local dealer. Definitely good to do - my clutch cable got fied when the wire one broke.

Sorry to hijack the thread
What are they now made of Pete & what do they look like
If you have them in stock I`ll grab one

thanks pete. i think it may be that the cable is potentially a little tight. will look at it.
i think i will go a hydrolic kit instead. maybe.

When I get a new seal you could try my hydralic clutch to see if you like it.

You may be better off with the Muller Powerclutch or the Soft clutch. The Muller I know works well, the Free Spirits Soft Clutch from Trojan looks like the same thing and is 1/2 the price. Some people here may have tried the Soft Clutch - SPAWN I think has
These are mechanical and fit without removing the primary cover.
The hydralic isn't bad, has a different feel and I manage to find a black lever for it that sort of matches a CGR shorty black. You'd loose your gold levers.

Obviously you weren't seriously injured in your accident. I thought you had a significant elbow injury.

pete. i was just thinking the idea of having hydrolic, but if it means more fukn around then i wont.
krusty. i have a chip in my elbow that is going to heal. still tender. the hole is good, just looks like a small graze now. my heel and ribs are fine. the bruising all gone.
ready to ride, id say.

I'm very pleased to hear that young fella. Hopefully we'll get together for a yarn some time in the future. Our place is always here if you want to overnight or have a break with mates during your adventures.

To fit is pretty good. Just cutting the line and then its easier than a normal clutch cable because the end is a better shape.
It's just a bit odd ball in feel with the reduced throw, and not spectacular looking. Just one more thing to leak.
After trying the hydraulic, I'd go a mechanical first if I wanted a softer clutch.

Oh harden up!
If my itty bitty girly girl hands/wrists can cope surely a big strong man shouldn't have issues LOL

Yes, but when you activate the clutch you trigger a vacuum & the earth starts spinning in reverse
|

i enjoy the current clutch pressure. also more fun when you hear and see the jap buddies bitch as they pull the lever in on the buell.
i just thought that maybe it would be a better option. but i will stick the the crg's and cable.
cheers

You can but it is not recommended. Both reduce clutch throw so nothing for nothing. I know some one who has done it, they say it just works.
If you have a wrist injury or you use a high performance clutch spring it could be good.
The clutch on the post '06 Buells is pretty light, but if the clutch is softer you break fewer cables, so I tried the hydraulic because my last three bikes have had hydraulic clutches and I figured the hydraulics are less likely to strand you than a cable.
After the weekend I'm going to start looking for a hydraulic belt.

bummer about the beltS..... 2 in 20km?...
just how are your roads made over there????

Two Pete's, two belts one ride.
Coming back from the BRCA AGM. Stopped at Yarra Junction. Talked about riding with broken cables, how Hippie Pete broke a belt while his clutch was playing up and took a few minutes to pin the lack of drive down to the belt. We took off again, except I didn't. I rang RACV (Total Cover & Extra cover is good for any bike you are riding), the others came back. I pss'd then off no use waiting while the tow was coming. 5 minutes later get a call. Hippie says "can I come too"
We had a belt raising party last night. Wouldn't read about it - 'cept you just did.

On ya! I can't see what all the fuss is about ... there is nothing wrong with the Bolts standard clutch as far as I am concerned and if I can do 1000s of kms in 2 weeks with no complaints (eh AJ????????) then I am sure any bloke should have no issues .
|
ajturbo

but your a harden biker chick...( was not brave enough to call you the other name ..)
and to hear you complain about a wee problem like a sore wrist, would be beneath you.....
