Select seat on CityXFor anyone who's interested, I've just bought a Select seat for my XB9SX and rode the bike to Sorrento and back on the weekend, with the new seat fitted. I'm 5'6" tall (short) and am always on tippy toes at the lights. I bought the seat not necessarily because I'm unhappy with the stock seat, but just to have something a bit lower which looks a hell of a lot better. I've heard that some people buy the stock CityX seat just for the extra comfort it provides.
It's definitely lower than the stock CityX seat, although not by much, maybe half an inch. The stock obviously compresses more when you sit on it. It's wider, or maybe feels wider because it's harder and not as tall, so it kind of digs into your legs where they hang off the seat - more so for shortarses like me, I suppose. Feels like you have more room to move around.
I did start to feel the cramp after nearly 2 hours of riding, which I don't think would have happened with the stock seat. The seat looks much nicer than before, and the little kicked-up bit at the back is fantastic for holding you in place while accelerating. Feedback from the pillion is good. Beth seems to like it better than the old one (although I didn't tell her how much it cost - $340 <ouch>).
In general, it feels more like a seat, rather than a column of foam, which is what the old one felt like. It's more slippery, but more comfortable for short rides. When I took the old one off, I noticed that the covering had split at the front r/h side, where the seat rubs against the frame. Considering the short time I've had the bike (6 months), this is pretty bad design. Even a little strip of plastic capping would have stopped that. I'll have to keep an eye on the new one to make sure it doesn't go the same way.
I reckon it looks 100% better than the stock seat. Will post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

This is where the old seat had worn through, from rubbing on the frame. Pretty poor after only 6 months:

I love that "fart channel"

Yeah, it's interesting that. The same design they have for female pushbike seats.
Maybe a "Vag" channel for the pillion?

I love the red and yellow.
I would have sworn that was higher than the stock seat.
