transverse V2's

Guzzi wanabes I call em LOL
just found this on our local ebay thing http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=233283378 "Moto guzzi copy by a Japanese company" they say... now I know of Honda's A23 in the 70's and of course we all know of the CX500/650's in the 80's... who else did a transverse V2 and or without drive shafts?

There are still debates raging about which crank direction is transverse on a bike.  If you follow the car teminology my Buell is transverse

Indian built one in WWII, there's one here in GP, I'll try to get piccys of it today.

Oh I dont know, I guess tradionaly the car was north south so when austin and the japs started doing east west it was knowen as transverse as it was someting ralitvly new.. were as bikes tradionaly were across with the ecption of the 4cly Indians and Hendersons... so when the crank was turned again something newish it was knowen as transverse.

yeah do that, dont think I have seen one... Harley built flat twins but they were 1 forward 1 back.

The research I have says this was called the Model 841, 750cc (45CI), and that it was built before the Moto-Guzzi
V-Twin.

Also, the fore and aft flat twin (37 CID) Harleys (dubbed the Sport Model) were released in 1919, and discontinued in 1923.
The boxer twin with shaft drive (Model XA) was the WWII bike
