Where is everybody?C'mon lads and lasses, where are all the posts? Are we gonna just give up on the forum?
I don't have much contact with other Buell riders, cuz of geography and web sites that have
plenty of posters, but do they have any real riders?
I've been laid up from an accident, almost cut the tip off my finger, so it's been hard to type til today, even so it's been pretty much hunt and pick. Hurts to sit here and try to post, but if this is my last chance, I'll post my email incase any one wants to keep in touch..
I've enjoyed it here, hope it doesn't end.
Cheers Murdoch for putting all this together, hope all your efforsts were not in vain.

Hey Fuzz I 2nd what you said...I have also been wondering where everyone is.
Myself? Well not much to report except work work and more work...bike going great but haven't done any riding worth doing a thread about...wkend weather has been poo here for the last 4 weeks in a row Honestly I ain't no shrinking violet when it comes to winter riding but blimmin heck! trying to convince other people that ya can still ride when its not blue skies and sunshine has been a bit difficult lately LOL.
Oh well time to trawl the bike shops and buy more gear...just scored an Ixon textile jkt so all I need is some heated grips and I am totally toasty in crapola weather. Gonna need the grips soon cos a group of 9 of us are riding down to Taupo (central plateau North Is) in September and its gonna be frigid and possibly icey conditions...brrr! If the site is still running there will be a report on that wkends debauchery for sure!
And on that topic...possibly shutting the site down? Well my thoughts are this: I would rather belong to a site with a small hardcore crew of members that actually RIDE than some of the alternatives out there. To me AVT is like a group of mates...its small and intimate and thats what I like about it...we all know each other reasonably well, none of us pretend to be anything other than ourselves, there are no egos and ... we all share that love of bikes, notably V-TWINS!!!!!!!!
Murdoch I can understand that you may feel as though there is not much interest in the site but I reckon quality is better than quantity.
Oh and Fuzz! What the??? What accident??? ouch!

Does it get cold in NZ?
ANd here is me thinking that the white stuff on your faces is the froth off the beer you forgot to wipe off!
heh heh
Rode to work this week and one of my caged friends said that it was 3 degrees on his car ambient thingy.
Felt a bit chillier than the days before I must admit. But, nothing a bit of revving of the twin did not combat.
Its gunna be sad to let her go I must say.

just a short story....
any one here follow the IOM?
there was a guy call shaun.. a friend of mine...
he raced there a few times... and won a few times... nearly died 2 years ago there... (some say he had only one bone in his body that was not broken)
well he has set up and is now doing M/C serviicing ...
He starts at the front and ends at the rear... checking EVERY bearing (excluding engine stuff... that cost extra) replacing ALL oil (brake, engine, gear box... and in my case clutch..)...
well he found a problem with some magnets in by the the thingy,.....
well a couple of weeks MORE wait till i get my baby back........

Bueller, yep I 2nd that as well...just a lull
Bomba, beer froth hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...I like that one LOL. Actually it is regularly in the single figures even in sub-tropical Aucks. There are quite a few mornings when I am riding to work in temperatures of 5deg and lower.
Last winter was even colder...the water in the outside dog bowls actually froze!
Tezza, sorry to hear you have been unwell. Hope its nothing too serious. Sending you positive vibes
BTW totally off-topic but i just can't help but wonder about one of the ads that is displaying at the moment...
Buy Twins from New Zealand... sounds like a blackmarket baby smuggling operation LOL

What's the going rate?
Any margin in it?
I reckon I could set up a long term breeding/caring/training package with the NRL/Rugby crowd.

Yes, well I have been talking with the mods about shutting up AVT
It is very quiet of late...................& I`m not even sure it even really took off
Certainly hasn't met my expectations
There is a great core group in here but after many days of inactivity I question the need for it ?
Then again I suppose it costs me little in both time & money
Thanks to the ppl who do make the effort to contribute to the forum

It has been really cold but I now have heated hand grips and they work a treat. I now have to work on a heated suit to wear on the bike (have they invented them yet?).
My husband (Trip) has bought himself an 1125CR Buell the same as mine except he has the red and I have the black one.
He had the bike two weeks and did a track day down at Oran Park Raceway south of Sydney with Lazza and the boys wearing my old AGV full face helmet and my old leather pants and has since bought himself a Shark full face for $200, down from $400 and a two piece leather suit for $650, down from $1095 when the Two Wheels store at Heatherbrae (Newcastle) was having a closing down sale. I bought a pair of Hornee jeans for $150, down from $240.
I went away 2 weeks ago up to Bendemeer with my girls club, Just Girls, and it was freezing, the temperature thing on the CR said it was 6 degrees but it felt colder than that. Even the local dog had his coat on.
Here are some pictures of him and his new persona: (what happened to the bad arse Harley rider i married 25 years ago?)
and my new t-shirt.

Hubby looks like he was born to ride the CR...seriously!
But I can also picture him on a bad-ass HD...
Hey what brand grips did ya get? I am finally admitting defeat and am gonna get some for the X1...got a debauched weekend away planned in the same vicinity as the annual Cold Kiwi rally...Its gonna be a fast hard riding wkend and I want my hands to be able to react quickly not feel like solid lumps of frozen meat...
Oh and YES! there are heated suits available...ask AJ(girly blouse) who has a heated vest AND heated grips...I keep telling him to HTFU!

No worries AJ,
When another window of oppotunity arrives...I've got ya number

Here they are:
http://www.srwmoto.com.au/
They took about 2 hours for Dearest to fit and cost $280 and they are well worth it.......................now for the heated vest!
I saw some other heated grips in Frasers when I was in there on Monday and you can get ones that wrap around your grips and you can take those ones off if you want.
It takes about 1 minute to heat up and I only use level 1 of heat, level 2 would be a bit too warm for me.

There the same grips as standard on my new Uly and are very good, I'm going to retro fit some to the old tuber, I will need to use the newer throttle cables which I have a set here! sent to me by mistake from Wackers

It's an option. You have to ask me for it and it takes a day longer to fill the order
