Where to practice riding in Melbourne SE?

My partner has just got her learners permit, we've bought her a Honda VTR250 and now she needs to find somewhere to practice riding before hitting the highways.

Could anyone suggest a good open area like a carpark or industrial estate, preferably in the South East (Caulfield, Moorabbin etc), before I start combing Google street view?  question

B got one.  That's great.

Can't help with your other question tho.  I never learned to ride

We went to Monash Uni and she cruised around there for a couple of hours. Big car parks, hardly any traffic, slow roads but with a few obstacles to navigate. Perfect for a beginner. Another couple of sessions there and she'll be ready to go on the normal roads.

It's amazing to see how much there is to remember and think about, for a newbie. We just take it for granted. Also, I'm glad I convinced her to get a VTR250 (v-twin) instead of a CB250 - it's so much more fun to ride, and even has a bit of power for a 250.

It'll be great when we can finally go out for a ride together and she's relaxed enough to enjoy it.
