FIGHT IT!!!!!
Cos if you guys let the beaurocrats win then its a sure bet our f**ken Govt will try and pull the same stunt.
Ironically on the rare occasions when I have ridden with other people who are in white helmets and fluoro gear it has become apparent very early in the ride that those riders are bloody useless... true! every time. Maybe they are wearing that gear as a warning: "steer clear of me cos I can't ride for shit"... LOL

I don't know about the rest of you but I will feel one hundred and ten percent safer on the road when I have that front rego sticker/plate!!!!!!
f**k me dead with a radish!!!
I am currently in the court system in Queensland defending a charge because some blind f**k did not even have the brains to look in his rear view mirror before he crossed the road in front of me to turn right!
The little shitball has even got a mate to back him up with a crock of shit to try and slip his responsibility.
I am now minus one bike, a $600 helmet and a few years off my life with worry because our sum total of driver awareness consists of putting a message in front of drivers where they will always look that said "Look out for motorbikes" on the vehicle rego sticker!!! How bloody hard up for reading material would you have to be to even bother looking at the back of your rego sticker!!!!
Most people would be hard up to know that it actually shows the day month and year when it was registered from let alone some obscure message on the back.
Now, because I have decided to defend the said charge I have been issued with a little piece of paper that I am supposed to carry with me to say that I am free to go at large pending the outcome of the trial. For a fucking traffic offence!!!!!!! Nasty bad motorcyclist me.
How about the fact that it is now illegal for the transport people to ask you to submit to an eye test before issueing you with a licence as they are not suitably qualified to carry out the said test. f**k me sideways with a fish fork!!!!! It does not take a Rhoades Scholar to get a person to stand a certain distance from a chart and read it back to you.
I have lost count of the number of times I have had dickheads look me in the eye and then proceed to drive out in front of me - and i wear an ORANGE reflective jacket!!!!!
Whew....nearly out of breath ..... Thanks for listening.
I think I will send a little note on to the Minister asking why he beleives the motorcyclist is vulnerable party. Most bikers do not fall off of their own accord. It takes an obstacle to cause the accident which is most often a dufus in a car!

I feel for ya mate. I will always remember the day I was minding my own business( but aware of traffic around me ) and something made me look at he car on my right (was on a 3 lane bit of road). The woman driver looked me right in the eye and proceeded to move into the space that I was already occupying. I used my horn, yelled at her and gave her the bird... she hesitated for a split second then kept moving over. F**KING BITCH. If I'd had better footwear on I would have kicked her door.
It was just so blatant. But if I had kicked her door I would have been the bad motorcyclist...

i believe and do this all the time. i ride agressive in traffic. i do not look at a car in teh eye, and expect them to flinch. they are bigger than me. i take the high ground. i make my room, and i push my space. i change lanes when i want, and that means i have moved and snuck a gap or too. but i do believe that if i am making hte choices and the challenges then its up to them to call my bluff. more often than not, they dont and give me my space. and damn it helps nice when your bike makes the good noise! i look at the front wheels a lot, and the back of the cars, you can tell the direction more often or not, and as said by many here. you look in their eyes and they still come forward as if they havent seen you or dont care.
blip the throttle and let em know i am around, but i dont stick around. i get on and in front.
i share your pain bombardier... i had a car cut me off on a bend. he was speeding and coming from teh oposite direction down hill towards me. the only way he was making that bend was by using the whole road. left me with a bit of gutter. didnt stop either...

As a minister of religion I'm supposed to be all meek and mild and turn the other cheek and shit. STUFF THAT! These pricks just dont realise they are fucking with my life and the life of my pillion - either my Fiance or my son. I'm sick of the bullshit. We have all the anti-bikie laws here, not yet acted upon by the cops it seems, but creating an atmosphere where "bikie" bashing is starting to happen, and by "bikie" I mean anyone on a bike, not just outlaws. Actually, most people won't cross an outlaw cos they know the consequences probably won't be very nice. The last accident I had I wasnt wearing black and I was wearing my priest's collar and got t-boned by a blonde in a nissan sports car. I wear black now, have a black bike with black loud pipes and i think it is much more noticeable. Ok, rant over.

How about road condition and it's impact on vulnerable motorcyclists. Bluestone speed humps and medians strips that are not marked along raised edges. Painting these while will save more lives on wet nights than white helmets.
