Hi there everyone |
|
Hi there to all the old people i see here from the ABR site. Itrust all is well everyone has had some good riding in the last 6mths.
Sold my Buell XB12R end of last year for ne house project. Bought the block then went on hols for Xmas. came back and 1 month later boss sells business without us knowing and we are not included!! great start to the year!! Then we get only 4 weeks notics and made to work it and no redundancy payout. Business moved premises over 2 hours away aswell. Not a happy chap after 12 years running place as the manager.
Luckily got out of the block of land and got most of our money back. Now it is on with the new as they say!! Sure did miss the bike over summer though and would have been good on some nights with all this shit going on to just go for a ride and release a bit of tension.
Must say i was never taken on the new 1125R when i first saw it or sat on it at the bike expo.
Recently reading the latest Performance Bike mag and saw an article on the Adrenalin Moto Trojan Horse racing 1125R full fairing kit. Now it looks pretty cool i must say. I actually was considering their full fairing kit earlier last year for the XB12R but held off.
well thats enough BS from me. ride safe........Cheers Ozbiker
Question? how many old ABR forum people on here have changed their bikes? and if you did what have you bought?

Trouble with that kit is the Firebolt headlights in the fairing. I wouldn't let that one out at night.

agreed the headlights are i guess a back step if you are owning a new bike but trying to make it look better and it looks like your old one!!
maybe some one will do a full faired version of this and adapt the new front fairing and headlights?
Havent seen one of them on the road yet. Have seem quite a few Buells around in the last 2 months. All XB's. Still a good looking bike i must say.
Some of the new 08 models are pretty tasty!! so many choices and not enough money!!

Oz, Welcome aboard!!!!
Other than the headlighs, I really like the full faired 1125. Have ya seen any piccys of the race version that Steve Crevier rode to a third place in last weekend's Canadian Superbike series?

Gidday Ozbiker!
Wow! Sounds like you have been through a bit of turmoil recently. I hope everything is on the up and up for now!
The 1125R... Must admit to thinking it was a bit fugly at first but now a mate has one and after he gave it to me to ride I have changed my opinion and reckon that it looks better 'in the flesh'.
Its a helluva lot of bike for under 20Gs!!!
But no, I am in no hurry to trade or sell the old girl. I am still very much attached to my beloved X1

funny, but the only way i would buy that 1125 is with the old front fairing... i think buell went a little too far in the redesign of the bolt to the next level. if they did that fairing kit in a three quarter form. ie the front fairing and then down to jsut below the gills. that would be interesting.
from teh old abr forum. i have since sold Jemma my black 12R and bought emma my 12S... after seeing first hand the 1125.
now i wait to see if the 1125s comes along.
welcome to avt.
